What was filed
The Federal Bank's board met on 16 October 2026 and approved the bank's unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026. The joint statutory auditors, Price Waterhouse LLP and K. S. Aiyar & Co., issued an unmodified limited-review conclusion. The results were filed to the NSE and BSE under Regulations 30, 33 and 52 of the SEBI LODR framework.
The quarter in brief
On a standalone basis, the bank reported higher net profit and operating profit than in both the preceding June quarter and the year-earlier September quarter. Asset-quality ratios also improved: gross and net NPA percentages both declined from a year earlier, as shown in the key figures. The Basel III capital adequacy ratio stood above the prior-year level. At the consolidated level — which includes subsidiaries Fedbank Financial Services and Federal Operations and Services, plus associate Ageas Federal Life Insurance — the group also reported a higher net profit for the quarter.
A change in stock-option accounting
The filing records a change in how the bank accounts for employee stock options. Effective 1 April 2026, the bank moved from the Intrinsic Value Method to the Fair Value Method (Black-Scholes) for options granted to all employees, to bring uniformity across its share-based compensation schemes. The bank disclosed that the change raised employee cost and reduced profit after tax for the quarter and half year by the amounts shown below — a point that bears on comparability with prior periods.
