What was filed
Genus Power Infrastructures released a press statement on its unaudited standalone results for Q1FY27 (quarter ended June 30, 2026). The company describes itself as a smart-metering solutions provider and a leading player in the Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) ecosystem. Revenue, EBITDA and profit after tax all grew year on year, while operating margin narrowed.
Growth, but with a margin squeeze
Per the filing, revenue growth was driven by execution of the order book, ramp-up in smart-metering projects and sustained demand. Profit rose in absolute terms, but the company said EBITDA and PAT margins slipped versus Q1FY26. It attributed the moderation to lower gross margins — specifically a rise in raw-material costs amid supply disruptions the company linked to the West Asia geopolitical situation. Management said gross margin improved sequentially even as it declined year on year.
The company also flagged that the variance between its standalone and consolidated PAT arises mainly from mark-to-market gains or losses tied to Genus Paper & Boards Limited, which it characterised as notional accounting adjustments rather than realised profit or loss.
Order book and outlook, as stated by the company
As on June 30, 2026, the total order book including all SPVs and the GIC Platform stood at about ₹24,020 crore excluding taxes, with concessions running 8–9 years. Management reiterated FY27 revenue guidance of ₹6,000–6,500 crore and an aim of installing at least 1 crore smart meters during FY27, against annual manufacturing capacity of over 1.8 crore meters.
The company said all projects have achieved operational go-live, that it expects working-capital days to improve by 50–75 days in FY27 versus FY26, and that it expects positive operating cash flow from FY28. These are forward-looking statements the company itself flagged as subject to risk under its safe-harbour note.
