Gujarat Apollo enters road construction equipment, re-appoints founder Asit Patel as CMD

Alongside June-quarter results, the board re-appointed the founder-CMD for three years and confirmed the company's first sales of road construction equipment — both leadership moves needing AGM approval.

What the board decided

At its 14 August 2026 meeting, the board of Gujarat Apollo Industries approved unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 and adopted the annual reports for the year ended 31 March 2026.

Subject to shareholder approval at the ensuing AGM, the board re-appointed Mr Asit A. Patel (DIN 00093332) as Chairman cum Managing Director for three years with effect from 1 September 2026, along with his remuneration. Per the filing, Mr Patel was first appointed a Managing Director of the company in June 1994.

Also subject to member approval, the board appointed Mr Aryan A. Patel — described in the filing as a related party and son of director Mr Anand A. Patel — as an executive in business development / Manager-Technical, a Senior Management Personnel holding a place of profit, with effect from 1 October 2026.

The quarter's numbers

The June 2026 results were reviewed by the company's auditors under the SEBI limited-review standard, which issued an unmodified conclusion on both the standalone and consolidated statements. The company operates in a single segment — the manufacture and sale of construction and mining machinery and spare parts.

The consolidated results include wholly owned subsidiaries AEML Investments Limited and Apollo FBC Crushing Equipment's Limited, and associate PFH Agri Equipment India Private Limited. The revenue and profit figures are set out in the key-numbers panel.

Entry into road construction equipment

In a corporate announcement filed the same day, the company said it has manufactured and sold an Asphalt Mixing Plant and a Paver Finisher. Per the filing, this "marks the beginning of the Company's foray into the road construction equipment business," building on an earlier communication. For a business that reports as a single machinery segment, this is a new product line. No revenue or order figures for it were disclosed.

A founding-family bench

Both leadership decisions concentrate on the founding family. Per the filing, the re-appointed CMD is the brother of director Mr Anand A. Patel and the father of Whole-Time Director Mr Arjun A. Patel. The newly appointed executive is the son of Mr Anand A. Patel and is disclosed as a related party holding a place of profit — the reason both appointments require member approval at the AGM. The filing lists each individual's shareholding.
