HPL Electric fixes 17 September record date for ₹1 final dividend

Shareholders on the register as on 17 September 2026 will be entitled to the ₹1-per-share dividend, if members approve it at the 24 September AGM.

What was filed

HPL Electric & Power Limited told the NSE and BSE it has fixed Thursday, 17 September 2026 as the record date for its dividend, payable *"if declared"* at the ensuing Annual General Meeting. The intimation, made under Regulations 30, 34 and 42 of the SEBI Listing Regulations, also confirmed that the 34th AGM will be held on 24 September 2026 by video conferencing, and that the FY 2025-26 Annual Report accompanies the notice.

The record date is the cut-off that determines which shareholders are entitled to the dividend. Per the filing, the payout itself remains conditional on member approval at the AGM.

The dividend on the table

The accompanying Director's Report states that the Board, at its meeting on 27 May 2026, recommended a final dividend of ₹1 per equity share of ₹10 face value (10%) for the year ended 31 March 2026, subject to shareholder approval. Eligibility is anchored to holdings on the register as on the 17 September record date.

The filing notes the dividend is unchanged from the prior year, when the company also paid ₹1 per share, and that payment would follow within 30 days of declaration.

The backdrop

The record date arrives alongside a full-year report in which HPL described FY26 as a year of balanced growth across its two segments — Metering, Systems & Services and Consumer, Industrial & Services. Per the filing, revenue and EBITDA both rose year-on-year, while profit after tax edged lower, which the company attributed to higher depreciation following recent capacity additions. The Consumer & Industrial segment's share of revenue rose to 43% from 37%.

For holders, the record date sets dividend eligibility: only those on the register as on 17 September 2026 would receive the recommended ₹1 per share, and the payout itself remains contingent on shareholder approval at the 24 September AGM.
