Mazagon Dock wins ₹118 crore MSETCL order for AI-based substation security

State transmission utility MSETCL has ordered an AI-based Infrasecure system across five substations from the defence shipbuilder, for execution over 24 months.

What was filed

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd told the exchanges that Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd (MSETCL) has placed a purchase order on it for the supply, installation and commissioning of an AI-based Comprehensive Infrasecure Project covering five substations. The order value includes GST at 18% and other duties, and is to be executed over a 24-month completion period.

A step beyond core shipbuilding

The order takes Mazagon Dock — best known as a defence shipbuilder — into infrastructure security work for a domestic power-transmission utility. The company said the award comes from a domestic entity, and that neither its promoter nor group companies have any interest in MSETCL, nor does the transaction fall within related-party transactions. The filing describes the scope in brief and gives no further technical or payment-schedule detail beyond the completion period.

Order value (incl. GST)
INR 117,99,71,564.90
Number of substations
05 Substations
Completion period

For a holder, the disclosure marks an order in a non-shipbuilding line of business for a state utility client; the filing does not indicate how it compares with the company's existing order book or revenue base.
