Sky Gold's Q1 FY27 profit roughly doubles; ₹10.7 crore deep-fake fraud disclosed at subsidiary

The jewellery maker reported sharply higher June-quarter revenue and profit, and flagged a post-quarter fraud loss at wholly owned subsidiary Starmangalsutra.

What was filed

On 9 August 2026, Sky Gold and Diamonds Limited (formerly Sky Gold Limited) informed the exchanges that its board had approved unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026. Statutory auditors M S K A & Associates LLP issued limited review reports with an unmodified conclusion on both sets.

The company operates in a single reportable segment — manufacturing and selling gold jewellery — with revenue from both domestic and foreign markets. The consolidated results cover wholly owned subsidiaries Sparkling Chains, Starmangalsutra, Speed Bangle and Sky Souk Jewellery Trading LLC (UAE), plus step-down subsidiary Shri Rishab Gold.

The quarter in brief

Consolidated revenue and profit both rose steeply against the same quarter a year earlier, with growth also visible sequentially over the March quarter. The panel above sets out the reported figures.

Exports remained a minority but growing part of the mix: the filing breaks out revenue earned outside India separately from domestic sales at both standalone and consolidated levels.

A post-quarter fraud disclosure

In the notes to the consolidated results, the company disclosed that after the quarter closed, wholly owned subsidiary Starmangalsutra Private Limited suffered a financial loss described in the filing as up to ₹1,070.00 lakhs, arising from a fraud in which a company-issued mobile phone and laptop used by an employee were compromised.

Per the filing, this was carried out using "very advanced deep-fake methodologies like profile cloning & coercion to get the transfers done." The company said a complaint was filed with the Cyber Police, an independent agency has been appointed to investigate the root cause, and steps have been taken to strengthen employee awareness, verification procedures and internal controls.

Auditor caveat

The auditors noted they did not review the interim financial information of two subsidiaries — carrying total revenue of ₹37,481.69 lakhs and net profit after tax of ₹2,244.11 lakhs for the quarter — which were included in the consolidated statement on the basis of other auditors' reports. Their conclusion was stated to be unmodified in that respect.

‡ Computed by us from the filing’s own figures — not a company-stated number.

For a holder, this filing pairs a steep year-on-year rise in reported revenue and profit with a disclosed, still-under-investigation fraud loss at a subsidiary and an auditor note on reliance on other auditors for two subsidiaries — details worth reading alongside the headline growth. The figures are unaudited and subject to limited review only.
