Tata Power Company Limited disclosed the commencement of commercial operations of a new renewable unit under Regulation 30 of SEBI's LODR. Its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has commissioned the Jewali Wind Project in Dharashiv district, Maharashtra, built on SG 3.6-145 wind turbine generators.
Where the power goes
The company said electricity from Jewali will be supplied to Tata Power Mumbai Distribution, helping it meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) targets. The filing ties the new capacity directly to the distribution arm's compliance need and its stated transition to a more sustainable energy mix.
How it fits the portfolio
With this commissioning, the filing states TPREL's wind portfolio now exceeds 3.9 GW, of which more than 1.3 GW is operational and the balance under development across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Total renewable utility capacity is stated at 11.6 GW — 6.7 GW operational (5.4 GW solar, 1.3 GW wind) and 4.9 GW under implementation, comprising roughly 2.1 GW solar, 2.6 GW wind and 0.2 GW BESS expected in phases over the next 6-24 months. The company reiterated its target of 100% clean energy generation and Net Zero by 2045.
