What the board approved
At its meeting on 8 October 2026, the TCS board approved audited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and six-month period ended 30 September 2026 and declared a second interim dividend for FY2026-27. The statutory auditors, B S R & Co. LLP, expressed an unmodified opinion. Per the filing, the dividend is payable on Friday, 30 October 2026, to shareholders on record as on the record date of Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
The quarter in context
Consolidated revenue from operations and net profit for the quarter were both higher than the same quarter a year earlier, per the filing. The prior-year September quarter had carried restructuring charges that this quarter did not — the current statement shows no exceptional items. Sequentially, the reported figures are close to the June 2026 quarter, which had included a one-off ₹668 crore charge for settlement of a legal claim with Computer Sciences Corporation.
Across the operating segments, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance remained the largest revenue contributor, with Consumer Business, Communication, Media and Technology, and Life Sciences and Healthcare also sizeable. The period-on-period comparison of the headline figures appears in the key-facts panel.
Dividend and a pending acquisition
The ₹12 second interim dividend follows a first interim dividend of ₹12 earlier in the year, taking the six-month interim payout to ₹24 per share, per the filing. The explanatory notes also disclose that during the quarter, a wholly owned Dutch subsidiary signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, an automotive and industrial consulting firm, for a cash consideration based on an enterprise value of EUR 320 million (₹3,484 crore), subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
