Waaree Energies' Q1 FY27 profit and revenue jump; two regulatory probes stay open

June-quarter revenue and profit rose sharply year-on-year even as the company kept a US Customs evasion review and an Indian income-tax investigation unresolved.

What was filed

Waaree Energies' board met on July 29, 2026 and approved the unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, together with the limited review report from statutory auditors SR B C & Co LLP. The trading window reopens on August 1, 2026. Consolidated revenue and net profit both rose sharply against the same quarter a year earlier, though both came in below the audited March 2026 quarter, which the filing notes is a balancing figure between the full-year audited numbers and the reviewed nine-month figures.

Two open regulatory matters

The auditors drew attention — without modifying their conclusion — to two unresolved matters. The first is a US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) investigation under the Enforce and Protect Act into the origin of components used in solar modules exported to the USA since January 2021. Per the filing, CBP issued a notice of determination of evasion during the quarter that affirmed the company's position that it did not use Chinese cells, but flagged certain entries needing further review under AD/CVD orders; the company has time to respond and recognised a provision against this matter in FY 2025-26. The second is an Income Tax department investigation carried out at the company's India offices and facilities in November 2025, after which the company received summons under section 131(1A) and provided the documents sought. Pending final outcomes, the company states no further adjustments have been made to the results.

A duty refund and the capex build-out

The filing also records income recognised after a US Supreme Court verdict declaring reciprocal duties levied on exporters unlawful; based on refund claims accepted by CBP, the company booked refund income of IEEPA reciprocal duties (net of amounts due to a customer) as other operating revenue. Separately, it reported continued deployment of its October 2024 IPO proceeds toward the 6GW ingot-wafer, solar cell and module facility in Gujarat and Maharashtra, and noted that subsidiary Waaree Renewable Technologies completed the acquisition of a 55% stake in Associated Power Structures on June 18, 2026.

‡ Computed by us from the filing’s own figures — not a company-stated number.

Alongside the quarterly figures, the filing keeps two contingencies live for holders — the US Customs evasion review, against which a provision was taken in FY26, and the Indian income-tax investigation — with the company stating that no further adjustments have been made pending their outcomes.
