What was filed
Avenue Supermarts, which owns and operates the D-Mart retail chain, declared its standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026 via a press release filed with the exchanges on 10 October 2026. The company added 15 new stores during Q2FY27, taking its total store count to 518, with a retail business area of 21.4 million sq. ft. across 17 states and union territories.
Revenue outpacing profit
On a standalone basis, revenue grew faster than profit at both the quarterly and half-year levels. EBITDA margin eased to 7.3% in Q2FY27 from 7.6% a year earlier, and PAT margin narrowed to 4.2% from 4.6%. Management attributed a marginal increase in operating expenses to entry-level wage inflation, while describing its pricing proposition as remaining strong in an inflationary environment. Per MD & CEO Anshul Asawa's comments in the release, two-years-and-older DMart stores grew 9.5% during Q2FY27 versus 6.8% in Q2FY26.
Standalone versus consolidated
On a consolidated basis — which includes the DMart Ready e-commerce business — Q2FY27 revenue stood at Rs.19,644 crore and net profit at Rs.743 crore, with margins slightly below the standalone figures. The e-commerce CEO's commentary in the filing described a focus on operational efficiencies and customer experience within existing cities, without disclosing separate e-commerce financials.
