What was filed
JSW Energy told the exchanges it has completed the acquisition of additional equity shares of Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited (TJPS) from Toshiba Corporation, Japan. The purchase was a secondary transaction in existing shares, following definitive agreements the company first intimated on 19 May 2026. With conditions met and the deal now closed, JSW Energy has raised its shareholding in TJPS.
What TJPS makes, and why the stake matters
TJPS is a joint venture between JSW Energy, Toshiba Corporation and JSW Steel. It operates a Chennai-based facility that manufactures large-sized supercritical and ultra-supercritical steam turbine generators. JSW Energy framed the step as one to strengthen access to these turbine generators, improve supply-chain resilience, and support its thermal capacity expansion plans. The company adds that it has already placed orders for ultra-supercritical turbine-generators with TJPS, deepening its visibility over a critical equipment supply chain.
