L&T wins 'ultra-mega' offshore order from ADNOC Offshore

L&T's offshore hydrocarbon arm will lead a consortium on a UAE offshore development that the company classifies as 'ultra-mega' — its largest order band, above ₹15,000 crore.

What was filed

Larsen & Toubro told the exchanges that its offshore hydrocarbon unit, LTEH Offshore, has secured what the company classifies as an "ultra-mega" order from ADNOC Offshore for a major project in the Middle East. The filing enclosed a press release rather than a contract value; L&T disclosed only its internal size band, not the specific order amount.

The project will be executed through a consortium in which LTEH Offshore is the lead partner and will handle the major share of the scope — engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of multiple offshore facilities, plus the upgrade of existing facilities.

How large 'ultra-mega' is

L&T's own order-classification scale, reproduced in the filing, places "ultra-mega" as its highest tier — orders valued above ₹15,000 crore. Because the company did not publish the contract value, that threshold is the only quantitative marker of scale the filing offers.

L&T said a significant portion of the fabrication work will be carried out at its own fabrication yards, drawing on its integrated EPCIC capabilities and its track record in offshore developments across the region.

Why it matters to a holder

For a diversified EPC and manufacturing group, a single order in the top size band adds to the order book and points to continued work for L&T's offshore fabrication yards and marine fleet. The filing frames it as an award from a long-standing regional client, ADNOC. As with any order intimation, the timing of revenue recognition and the eventual margin depend on execution over the project period — neither of which is addressed in the filing.

The award adds to L&T's offshore order book in its largest size category, though the company did not disclose the contract value, execution timeline or margin — so the financial impact cannot be sized from the filing alone.
