What was filed
Polycab India filed its unaudited interim condensed standalone and consolidated financial statements for the quarter and half-year ended 30 September 2026, approved by the Board on 15 October 2026. B S R & Co. LLP issued a limited-review report stating that nothing came to its attention to suggest the statements were not prepared in accordance with Ind AS 34. A review is explicitly less in scope than a full audit, and the figures are unaudited.
The prior-year comparatives are labelled 'Restated'. Per the filing, this reflects the amalgamation of Uniglobus Electricals and Electronics Private Limited with Polycab India, effective 27 March 2026 (appointed date 1 April 2025), accounted for under the pooling-of-interest method for entities under common control.
Behind the quarter's growth
On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations and profit for the period both grew steeply versus the same quarter a year earlier, as did the half-year figures. Wires & Cables remained the dominant contributor, while the FMEG segment roughly doubled its quarterly revenue year on year.
The filing shows finance costs rising markedly over the year-ago quarter. Acceptances — amounts payable to banks under letter-of-credit and vendor-financing arrangements, which Polycab reports in place of derecognised trade payables under supplier-finance arrangements — expanded considerably since 31 March 2026, alongside a large build in inventories. These are the working-capital items a holder tracking the quality of the earnings growth may wish to watch.
Legal, regulatory and tax disclosures
Polycab disclosed a post-reporting-period event: on 7 October 2026 the NCLT, Ahmedabad admitted an insolvency petition over an alleged operational debt of ₹27.9 million; on 9 October 2026 the NCLAT stayed that order. The company said it considers the matter a commercial dispute and expects no material impact.
The company also flagged new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations for non-ferrous metal scrap recycling, effective 1 April 2026, but said it is currently unable to reliably estimate the potential impact because the implementation framework and the EPR-certificate pricing mechanism are yet to be notified.
On tax, a search-related demand for AY 2014-15 to AY 2023-24 of ₹525.63 million plus interest was reduced to Nil after a CIT(A) order upheld by the ITAT; an appeal on an AY 2024-25 demand remains pending.
