What was filed
Polycab India's Board met on 15 October 2026 and approved the unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026. The statutory auditors, B S R & Co. LLP, issued an unmodified limited review report.
This is a routine quarterly reporting event. The substance lies in the segment mix and two developments the company itself discloses. Year-on-year, consolidated revenue and profit rose over the September 2025 quarter; the figures are set out in the key-numbers panel.
Where the growth came from
By segment, the filing shows Wires and Cables remained by far the largest contributor to both revenue and segment results, with FMEG and EPC the smaller two baskets. FMEG segment results improved sharply from the year-earlier quarter. Material cost continued to dominate the cost base, consistent with the commodity-intensive nature of the cables business.
The standalone prior-year comparatives are restated to reflect the amalgamation of wholly owned subsidiary Uniglobus Electricals and Electronics Private Limited, approved by the NCLT with an appointed date of 1 April 2025. The filing states the restatement impact on prior-period profit before tax was -0.51% for the September 2025 quarter.
Two disclosures a holder should note
The filing discloses that the NCLT Ahmedabad Bench, by order dated 7 October 2026, admitted a Section 9 insolvency petition over an alleged operational debt of ₹27.9 million. Polycab appealed, and the NCLAT, by order dated 9 October 2026, stayed and kept the NCLT order in abeyance. The company states it considers this a commercial dispute, expects no material impact on its financial position or operations, and notes the matter remains sub-judice.
Separately, the company flags new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations for recycling of non-ferrous metal scrap under amended Hazardous Waste rules effective 1 April 2026. Because the CPCB registration portal and the certificate issuance, trading and pricing framework are not yet notified, Polycab says it is currently unable to reliably estimate the potential impact.
