Growth and profit move in opposite directions
Shakti Pumps' half-year update describes a divergence between growth and profit. Revenue from operations rose at a double-digit pace year-on-year in both Q2 and H1 FY27, led by solar pump execution. Margins moved the other way. The company attributed the compression to lower realisations, higher raw material costs and elevated logistics expenses that it linked to prevailing geopolitical conditions, adding that margins held steady on a sequential basis. It framed cost optimisation and operating efficiencies as its response. The specific margin and profit figures are set out in the key-facts panel.
Solar pumps carry the order book
The solar pumps business remains the core of the story. Installations rose 29.3% year-on-year in H1 FY27, per the filing, and the segment contributed the bulk of consolidated revenue. The company reported an order book of ₹7,510 million as of 23 October 2026, weighted toward Maharashtra's Magel Tyala Saur Urja Yojana and a Karnataka state programme. Management pointed to PM-KUSUM 2.0, which it said is expected to be announced during the ongoing quarter, as a source of further opportunity. Exports revenue was lower year-on-year, which the company said reflects roughly ₹200 million of Uganda-project revenue recognised in the prior-year period.
Capacity build-out and receivables
Shakti said it is investing around ₹17,000 million to strengthen manufacturing and backward integration. The headline operational development: 0.5 GW of its planned 2.2 GW solar module capacity commenced trial production in October 2026, with the 2.2 GW DCR solar cell facility slated for commissioning by FY28. The company also disclosed continued investment in its EV motors and controllers subsidiary. On receivables, the filing states about 50% of total receivables were not yet due and a further 22% were under 180 days, with the balance in older buckets that include a 10% retention component.
