What was filed
Tata Consumer Products submitted its press release on unaudited consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026, filed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations. The company framed the quarter around volume-led growth in its India branded business and an acceleration in what it calls its 'growth businesses'.
Where the growth came from
Per the filing, the India branded business delivered 11% underlying volume growth, led by strong salt volumes, with salt revenue up 15%. The 'growth businesses' grew 40% and now make up 38% of the India business. Within that basket, Tata Sampann recorded 57% revenue growth and the Ready-to-Drink business grew 47%, which the company attributed to distribution expansion, premiumisation and new launches.
India tea volumes were flat amid subdued category demand, with revenue declining marginally after pricing actions narrowed the volume-value gap. Capital Foods and Organic India grew a combined 15%, which the filing said was dented by shipping disruption in the exports business even as domestic revenue rose 24%. The International business grew 7% but was down 2% in constant currency, lapping a high base.
The company also noted 22 new product launches during the quarter and said Tata Starbucks reached a multi-quarter high in revenue growth, ending the period with 505 stores across 81 cities in India.
Why it matters to a holder
The filing frames the quarter around two threads a holder tracks closely: whether growth is volume-led rather than price-led, and how quickly the newer 'growth businesses' are scaling against the legacy tea portfolio. Management described the result as the second consecutive quarter of double-digit revenue growth in FY27 and pointed to disciplined execution behind the EBITDA expansion. The period-on-period figures are shown in the key-facts panel.
